MU's missing player for more than a year and a half is about to return

Coach Erik ten Hag needs a thick squad to be ready for the intense second phase of the season.

The story of Cristiano Ronaldo aside, Man Utd has somewhat improved the game since Erik ten Hag arrived at Old Trafford in the summer.

Despite a poor start to the Premier League season , the Red Devils are currently in 5th place, just three points behind Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League spot.

The former Ajax boss has brought in six players to rejuvenate the Man Utd squad and is likely to sign more recruits in January to realize the club's goal of breaking into the top four.

However, Man Utd can also rely on "homegrown" players. The month-long mid-season break helps the Red Devils welcome many players back. One of them is Axel Tuanzebe.

Injuries and poor development made Tuanzebe gradually disappear from the Man Utd squad for the past year and a half. The last time Tuanzebe played for Man Utd was in the Europa League final defeat to Villarreal in May 2021. Tuanzebe entered the field in the 116th minute.

Man Utd homepage confirmed Tuanzebe is following a special rehabilitation program at Carrington training center. This defender has made positive progress.

Tuanzebe's return to fitness will be the motivation for coach Erik ten Hag to add options for Man Utd's defense.
