Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville has revealed that Sir Alex Ferguson broke transfer rules for one player, Louis Saha.
Ferguson never consulted his players about signing rookie contracts during his time at Old Trafford. But he broke it once, after an FA Cup match against Fulham in 2001, when watching Saha play.

Saha tormented Ferguson's United so much that the Scot asked his defenders, Neville and co, whether he should sign the Frenchman.
Recalling the incident on Sky Sports, Neville said: "But after we played Fulham in the FA Cup, he actually asked us as defenders if we should sign Louis Saha no? We all said 'yes' immediately."
"I remember the season he played as a striker with Wazza [Wayne Rooney] in 2006 and it was unbelievable; they were fantastic together. Louis was a brilliant player . He made I had nightmares when I played against him when he was playing for Fulham."
